Road Trip to New Mexico

I, being smart as always, wore a black shirt on a hike in 100+
degree weather on a cliff. Nice, right? Mesa Verde everybody! Great exercise, great views, great times. Just make sure to bring plenty of water!
Gila Cliff Dwellings. Pretty cool!

Four Corners monument. They charged unbelievable prices and on the receipt it didn't even tell you what you paid for!! There wasn't anything but a plaque and a few flags to tell you about the place either. Just a bunch of Mexicans peddling their stuff. Big whoop. Oh well. I stood in four states at once. ^_^

Me about to go into Carlsbad Caverns. The cave was amazing!! I'd definatly suggest you stop by here sometime. It was great!

I recently went on a road trip with my dad to New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, and we drove through several other states. We live in southern Missouri, so this was quite a drive. We drove through Oklahoma, stopped at Carlsbad caverns the next day after we set out. That's saying something, because we left home at about 5pm when dad got off work. Then we drove all the way up to the Gila Cliff Dwellings, then we went to Texas to go to the Guadalupe Mountains, then we went off to Hatch NM to get some Chili, but the whole CITY was closed. Catholic Mexicans. They sure do roll up their side walks. Let's get one thing straight: I don't like illegal aliens. I get it that this is supposed to be a melting pot, and I'm all for that, but FIRST you need to learn English. If you don't want to be an American, then get your sorry butt outta here. Anyway, after Hatch we went up up and away to Mesa Verde and spent a few hours there. We hiked for about 1.5-2hrs on one trail, then we went on a different one and strolled for a couple hours too. All in all, it was a great time. I MUCH prefer a road trip with one or two people in a car, then take the whole family and go to some amusement park. Just...Better. Less crowded, everyone's happy, and it's a lot more fun to not have to stay in a hotel every night. Dad and I only spent one night in our four day weekend at a hotel so that we could shower. Using that policy, we managed to only spend about $300--And that's including fuel. Deisel. Awesome. Dad gets at least 50MPH, and we live in town. That's saying something.
